The North Eastern Pacing Club (NEPC) at Scottsdale on Tasmania’s North-East Coast hosts one meeting a year and usually on the first or second Friday in January.
It is well patronised with thousands flocking to the venue which also boasts a country hoe-down after the last race with live music and a plethora of cuisines for those who like to party!
The tight track can cater for only five horses on the front row but the action gives racegoers a feeling that they could almost touch the horses as they skim the outside fence when making their moves in the backstretch and home straight.
